Two Premier League clubs could be interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Aaron Lennon this summer, FootballDirectNews.com understands. It emerged on Thursday that Lennon could be one of six names axed by Tottenham in a major summer clearout by the club, and that has appeared to alert Aston Villa and Swansea City to his potential availability.

The England international has been at White Hart Lane for the majority of his career so far, signing from Leeds United back in 2005 and going on to make over 300 appearances for the club.
However, he has never truly lived up to the potential seen in him as a youngster, and could finally depart this summer as Spurs look to revamp their under-performing squad. Villa and Swansea are both on the lookout for attacking players and could now compete for Lennon’s signature, according to a Tottenham insider. Aaron’s been great for us, but we’re looking to change things and I think if a good enough offer comes in this summer he’ll move on, a club source explained. “So far it looks like there’ll be offers from Villa and Swansea. “
