AC Milan could look to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Italian giants are facing the possible exit of star striker Mario Balotelli from the San Siro at the end of the season, and are already on the lookout for replacements, it has emerged.
The likes of Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko have already been linked with the club, and a Tottenham insider now believes that the in-form Adebayor has come on to their radar with his fine performances in recent weeks.
The 30-year-old found himself out of favour at White Hart Lane at the start of the season, but has now scored seven goals in his last eight games to help the club climb the table and challenge for a top four place.
The Togo international has been linked with Milan in the past, having become a top target for them during his days at Arsenal, though he ended up moving to rivals Manchester City instead. We think Milan might make some enquiries about Adebayor in the summer, a Spurs source explained. “They’re looking at a few players and depending on what happens with Balotelli, we might see a bid. The manager (Tim Sherwood) rates him, so I doubt we’d let him go easily.
