Sepp Blatter will announce his decision on whether or not to change host of the 2022 World Cup after extreme heat saw Qatar’s bid thrown into jeopardy. Fifa president Sepp Blatter has admitted in the past few days that the decision to award Qatar the World Cup in 2022 was a mistake due to the extreme heat and a problem regarding a possible move to Winter. A decision on whether or not the World Cup will be moved is set to be made either during or following the World Cup this summer in Brazil, leaving the likes of USA and Australia waiting in anticipation. Five bidders approached Fifa to host the 2022 games, with Qatar beating USA, South Korea, Japan and Australia in voting. It is understood that all four will now be considered as new hosts. Should the World Cup be given to a new host, it would be only the second time in the history of the competition, after the 1986 tournament which was changed from Colombia to Mexico, due to economic reasons.
