West Bromwich Albion take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Hawthorns on Saturday in need of points as they look to continue their push for survival in the Premier League.
The Baggies have a torrid record against Tottenham, having won just twice in their last 20 matches in all competitions, with their victories coming in 2005 and 2008. Spurs have managed to win 10 of their last 20 encounters against West Brom, and drawn eight of them.
The last meeting between the two sides was at White Hart Lane on Boxing Day which resulted in a 1-1 draw. Christian Eriksen opened the scoring with an excellent free-kick, only to give away a set-piece which led to West Brom’s equalizer almost immediately after kick-off.
When the two sides met at the Hawthorns in the Premier League last season, the game was decided by a superb Gareth Bale strike three minutes short of the hour-mark in 0-1 win for Spurs. West Brom are currently in 16th place, five points above the drop zone with a game less than the two teams below them, Norwich City and Fulham. Super Sunday!
