West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel has admitted that he would like to sign Ruben Castro from his former club Real Betis. Mel took over at the Baggies in January as his side remain precariously one place above the drop zone with just seven games remaining. The Spaniard admits goals have been hard to come by and would love to have his former player Ruben Castro with him at the Hawthorns.“I would bring in a Betis player. Everyone knows that in football, without a goal there is nothing,” Mel said, but admitted it would be impossible to sign him now.“It’s science fiction but I would love to also have Ruben Castro here with me. But I repeat, it’s science fiction,” he told SportYou. West Brom have only managed one win since Mel took over and there have even been some lingering doubts that his job could be on the line before the season even ends.
