New Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has told the club’s board that he wants to announce the summer signing of Luke Shaw as soon as possible. It has been reported heavily that Southampton left-back Luke Shaw will arrive at Old Trafford this summer to replace Patrice Evra, who looks increasingly likely to make a summer move to Italy. However, further reports have claimed that the Saints have rejected an approach for United, rejecting a 27m bid, which they are set to increase over the coming days. Van Gaal, like Shaw, will be at the World Cup in Brazil with Netherlands, but his return will see him take charge of United and it is understood that he wants to do so with his plan already in place. The former Barca coach has also indicated Toni Kroos and Arturo Vidal as potential summer signings.
