Louis van Gaal will keep Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt on the coaching staff at Manchester United, according to Dutch reports. Van Gaal is expected to be appointed as manager at Man United, becoming the permanent successor to David Moyes, who was sacked last month, after he leaves his post with the Holland national team after the World Cup this summer. There had been a thought that Van Gaal would look to employ his own backroom staff at Old Trafford, should he be appointed, which could have meant the end of Ryan Giggs’ time at Man United. Giggs has been in interim charge of the first-team since Moyes’ departure and has had Scholes, Butt and Phil Neville working alongside him and it appears that, according to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Van Gaal is willing to keep work with the coaching staff already in place. It is thought that Van Gaal would look to appoint Giggs as his assistant, rather than Patrick Kluivert, who had been mooted as a possibility, while maintaining the rest of the coaching staff.
