La Liga side Valencia are hoping to sign Fabio Borini from Liverpool this summer, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The 23-year-old has not managed to make a significant impact at Anfield since joining the club last season, and he has spent this campaign out on loan at fellow Premier League side Sunderland.
Although the Italian international has done well at the Stadium of Light, scoring seven goals in all competitions to give the Black Cats a fighting chance of avoiding relegation, he seems unlikely to make his move to the club permanent. With Borini seemingly available for transfer, it could be Valencia that look to offer him his next club, which would make it five different teams in as many seasons for the well-travelled forward.
The former Roma and Swansea City man has not yet played in Spain, and could be open to a new challenge at the Mestalla, where he would make a decent replacement for Roberto Soldado upfront, with the striker having left to join Tottenham Hotspur last summer. Valencia also lost another key player upfront in January, with Helder Postiga making the move to Lazio.
