Manchester United’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has hit a snag after his agent claimed the French champions will not sell him. A source close to Old Trafford told [football] direct news that the Argentina international is high on their list of targets for the summer transfer window and they continue to monitor his situation with interest. However, according to Tutto Mercato Web, the 24-year-old’s representative Marcelo Simonian has ruled out a switch to the Red Devils or any other club, insisting his client is certain to stay in the French capital despite interest from high-profile suitors. Serie A outfit Roma are also said to be interested in securing the services of Pastore in a possible swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic head in the opposite direction – another scenario dismissed by Simonian. He said: “No, nothing to it. Javier remains in Paris.”United now face the prospect of moving on to other targets, with their wishlist likely to depend on the identity of their next manager.
