Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claims Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has not improved since he was 17-years-old. The Gunners star, now 22, burst onto the scene as a teenager and has established himself not only as a key member of the north London outfit’s side but also at international level with England. He has once again suffered with injuries this term, but should he overcome his fitness problems he is fully-expected to play an important part in the Three Lions’ World Cup campaign in Brazil this term. However Scholes, who spent his entire career at United and earned 66 caps for the national side, is not convinced that Wilshere justifies the hype. He told Sky Sports 1: “Jack Wilshere came onto the scene with this big reputation as a 17-year-old but he has not kicked on and improved since then.“He needs a leader next to him. Playing against Arsenal in the past used to be tough, they had the likes of Tony Adams and Patrick Vieira. It isn’t like that anymore.”Read more Arsenal transfer news.
