Manchester United have been forced to make a bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho after learning of Inter Milan’s interest. United boss Moyes has been credited with interest for the Portuguese defensive midfielder and it is understood that the Premier League club have made an opening bid to Sporting Lisbon. Carvalho has been in superb form this season for club side Sporting Lisbon and has even gained interest from the likes of La Liga duo Barcelona and Real Madrid. The 21-year-old has made 22 league appearances for Sporting and his latest against Gil Vicente at the weekend has gained plaudits from a number of representatives at Inter.[FDN] understands that contact was made following the game between Inter and Sporting and that has now forced United to make an initial bid. It is expected that Carvalho will be available to leave the club this summer but only for the 30m valuation set by the Portuguese side.
