The Spanish midfielder has been one of Europe’s top performers this season, helping his boyhood club to their first La Liga title since 1996 and helping them to the final of the Champions League. His performances have earned the interest of Manchester United who are keen to add a world-class centre-midfielder to their ranks but the 22-year-old has stated his contentment at the club. A number of his colleagues, like star striker Diego Costa, have been linked with moves away from the Vicente Calderon but Koke feels that it is only natural after a successful campaign.“It’s normal that these things arise after a spectacular year that we have had. On my behalf I am happy here, it is my home and if they (Atletico) want me to, I will stay for a fair amount of time,” Koke told reporters during the club’s presentation of the new home strip. Koke has been an integral part of the team this season and has played 58 matches in all competitions. He is currently under contract in Madrid until June 2018.
