Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in Bayern Munich’s out of favour star Xherdan Shaqiri, according to his agent. The 22-year-old Swiss international only joined Bayern in July 2012, but has only played 629 minutes of Bundesliga football this season. Shaqiri caught the eye with his performances for Basel before Munich snapped him up for 10m. David Moyes and Brendan Rogers were planning on making a bid in January but decided to pursue other targets, though are likely to come back in the summer with firm offers, along with Inter Milan. And it looks like the midfielder is ready to call time at the German giants as he seeks regular football.“He needs to play consistently and, at the moment, this isn’t possible at Bayern,” his agent told Blick.“Could he leave? There are clubs like Inter, Manchester United, Liverpool and others who are interested. If they confirm their interest, then we would be prepared to listen to offers.”Read more Liverpool transfer news.
