Tottenham Hotspur could be lining up a summer move for Ajax winger Viktor Fischer, [football] direct news understands. The north London club are set for a summer of rebuilding after a frustrating season this year, with many of their big-name signings of last year failing to settle in and make an impact at White Hart Lane. However, Spurs did have success in bringing young Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen in from Ajax, and the club will now look to make a similar move in bringing in Eriksen’s fellow countryman and former club team-mate Fischer. The 19-year-old is highly regarded at the Amsterdam club and has had another good season in the first-team, scoring seven goals from the flanks. Fischer could come in to play on the left-hand side for Tottenham, who may well look to clear out the likes of Aaron Lennon, Nacher Chadli and Lewis Holtby from their current options in that area. Spurs also had success in signing Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen from Ajax two years ago, with the versatile stopper becoming a key part of the first-team setup at the club.
