Tottenham Hotspur are considering a summer move for Fluminese and Brazil striker Fred, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The north London outfit are keen on bringing in new signings upfront this summer after a highly disappointing campaign from 26million man Roberto Soldado, who has only scored six times in the Premier League.
Tottenham also sold long-serving striker Jermain Defoe to FC Toronto earlier in the season, and are hoping to add some quality to their attack as they try once again to break into the Premier League’s top four. Fred could be a good, experienced option for Spurs, having proven to be something of a late bloomer in his career with some terrific goalscoring exploits for club and country in the last few years.
The 30-year-old was one of the stars of last summer’s Confederations Cup, when his goals helped Brazil to glory in the competition, and he will be hoping to shine again at this summer’s World Cup in his home country.

La Liga side Valencia are also showing an interest in the player, as they still seek replacements for Soldado since selling him to Spurs last summer.
