Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen is set for a new contract at the club after interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Dutch midfielder has been in red-hot form this season for Ajax, having scored eight goals in his 21 Eredivisie starts and his performances have gained interest from a number of European clubs. One of those clubs, Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with heavy interest as they seek to re-build their squad for next season. Spurs signed Christian Eriksen last summer in an 11m move and the North London club had planned to use their recent dealings with the Dutch side to make a move possible. However, it is now understood that Klaassen is willing to put pen-to-paper and sign a new and improved contract with the Dutch club. The 21-year-old has a current deal until 2016 but Voetbol International claim that a new deal will see him signed until 2018.
