Fiorentina could beat Tottenham Hotspur and other clubs to the signing of Domenico Criscito, according to Rai Sport.
The 27-year-old left-back, currently on the books at Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg, has attracted plenty of attention in recent months following some fine performances, and now looks to be heading back to Serie A.
The Italian international, formerly of Juventus, has previously hinted that he would be keen to return to his home country, with Napoli supposedly his preferred desintation, though Inter Milan have also shown an interest in securing his services.
Tottenham are in the market for a new left-back at the moment, with manager Tim Sherwood unconvinced by Danny Rose as first-choice in that position, but Criscito may now be out of reach as Fiorentina join the chase for his signature. La Viola are seemingly also keen to strengthen in that part of the pitch, and could prove a tempting move for the Zenit ace as they look to be on the up under the management of Vincenzo Montella. Zenit recently appointed former Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas as their new manager, and the Portuguese coach could be open to the sale as he considers making changes to the squad inherited from previous manager Luciano Spalletti.
