Tottenham Hotspur could join the chase for highly-rated Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The 19-year-old has been something of a revelation in the Eredivisie this season, establishing himself as an influential member of the Feyenoord team with an impressive record of four goals and five assists from the middle of the park.
The Netherlands Under-21 international has already found himself on the radar of Manchester United manager David Moyes, and now looks to have attracted further interest from England as Tottenham hope to snap him up this summer.
The north London outfit are looking to improve their squad after a difficult season, and will once again look to Technical Director Franco Baldini to bring in some of the best young talent from around Europe. Christian Eriksen moved to White Hart Lane from Dutch giants Ajax last summer and has proven a big success at the club, and there is hope that Vilhena could replicate that quick transition to the higher level of the English top flight.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Vilhena at Feyenoord, a Spurs source said. “We’ve had scouts watch him and he looks a great prospect. Man United are after him as well, but I’d expect us to make an offer this summer. “
