Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Gerry Francis thinks the north London club could yet decide to keep head coach Tim Sherwood. Sherwood is widely-expected to depart White Hart Lane at the end of the season, with rumours circulating that he will be axed even in the unlikely event that he secures Champions League qualification with a top-four finish.
However, Francis insists chairman Daniel Levy and the board of directors could opt to give him a stay of execution in a summer assessment.
He told Sky Sports News: “Whatever happens off the field he cannot change that, all he can do is concentrate on things taking place on the field. They won 5-1 the other day when all the rumours started so it didn’t have a negative impact on the players. “The club hasn’t said he is definitely going so all Tim can do is concentrate on working on the football and coaching side of things. “If he ends the season with some really good results it helps him, no matter what happens at the end of the campaign. “If nothing is decided at the moment and he does really well maybe it will change their (the owners’) minds. ”
