Italian side Roma want to take Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho on an initial loan deal, according to reports. The Brazilian midfielder has been a relative success for Premier League Tottenham after he made a 17 million move from Corinthians last summer. The 25-year-old Brazilian has made 36 appearances for Spurs this season, scoring seven goals and has been identified by Roma as a potential replacement for Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic. The Corriere dello Sport report that the Roman club want Paulinho on an initial loan deal. The lure of Champions League football might prove to be too strong for Paulinho who has also been attracting the attention of Chelsea. Roma are preparing themselves should they lose Bosnian midfielder Pjanic who has been targeted by United as well as Paris Saint-Germain. There was a suggestion that PSG would propose a player plus cash deal for Pjanic, with Javier Pastore going in the opposite direction but that appears to be dead in the water.
