Roma are being linked with a summer move for Tottenham midfielder Paulinho and reportedly hope to clinch a deal before the World Cup. Paulinho joined Spurs from Brazilian club Corinthians in the summer and, while he has faired bettere than a number of the club’s other acquisitions, the midfielder has struggled to adapt to the English game. The midfielder has scored four goals in 26 Premier League appearances for the White Hart Lane outfit and is contracted at Spurs until 2018, although there has been some speculation linking Paulinho with an early exit this summer. According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Roma could offer Paulinho an escape route with the Serie A side believed to have made contact with Spurs in regards to a summer move for the 25-year-old. The report also claims that Roma are hopeful of completing a deal for Paulinho before this summer’s World Cup, which will he hosted in the midfielder’s home country of Brazil.
