Il Messaggero report that Roma have made initial enquires to Manchester United defender Patrice Evra for his services.
The Rome based newspaper have been incredibly heavy with their links of Roma making a summer move for a new left-back despite the options of Federico Balzaretti and Dodo, with boss Rudi Garcia said to be unhappy.

And, Manchester United’s Patrice Evra has emerged as a possible target with initial talks between the French defender’s representatives and the capital based side having taken place. Fellow Italian side Inter Milan were set on bringing Evra to the San Siro along with Nemanja Vidic but a deal has since stalled, giving Roma the push they need to attempt a summer move. Evra has been in hot and cold form this season and has been tipped to call time on his career at Old Trafford, refusing to activate a clause in his contract that would see him stay for an extra season. Instead, the French international is now allowed to leave the English club on a free transfer and it seems increasingly likely that his destination will be the Serie A.
