Roma are closing in on the loan signing of Tottenham midfielder Paulinho for next season, according to reports in Italy. Paulinho joined Spurs from Brazilian club Corinthians last summer and, although he has made 27 appearances in the Premier League for the north London club, the midfielder has come under some criticism. The 25-year-old has struggled to adapt to the English game and Paulinho has been linked with a move away from Spurs, with many claiming that the Brazilian could be loaned out for a season before either bringing him back or with a view to selling. Roma, according to Forza Italia, are close to signing Paulinho on loan for next season, with the midfielder set to appear at the World Cup for Brazil in his home country. The midfielder was one of the seven players to be signed by Tottenham following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, alongside Roberto Soldado, Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue, Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela.
