Arsenal target Alvaro Morata could head to AC Milan as part of a swap deal to bring Mario Balotelli to Real Madrid, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The 23-year-old, who only just signed for Milan from Manchester City last January, has been linked with a whole host of top clubs in recent months following Milan’s poor form in Serie A, with rumours that Chelsea could look to bring him back to the Premier League in the summer. Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be interested, but Real Madrid now look set to step up their interest in the Italian international by offering in-demand youngster Morata in return to the San Siro club.

Morata, who has been linked with Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan, is a highly rated prospect, but faces an uphill struggle to break past big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in the Madrid starting lineup, and could be tempted to move on to gain first-team football and further his career. Despite the presence of so many attacking players, the Spanish giants have been linked with further additions upfront, with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez long touted as their main target, though they now seem to be exploring other options.
This will come as something of a blow for Arsenal, who missed out on a number of their striker targets last summer, and could now miss out on another as Morata looks increasingly likely to join Milan. Click here to enter and win two tickets to watch Arsenal – Swansea on Tuesday, 25th.
