Real Madrid could rival the likes of Juventus for the signing of Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny this summer, according to Fichajes. net.
The French international is supposedly a favourite of Real boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is on the lookout for potential signings in defence this summer as some doubts remain over the future of key pair Pepe and Raphael Varane. Koscielny has established himself as one of Europe’s top centre-backs during his time in north London, and has previously attracted reported interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well. Arsenal will no doubt be keen to avoid selling one of their stars as they seek to build on a promising season, but Madrid have a good track record of landing their targets due to the financial power at their disposal. It seems likely that Arsenal would try to negotiate a deal to land Varane in return, with the Gunners having been linked with the youngster in the past, though he is also thought to be on Chelsea and Manchester United’s radars this summer. Koscielny, 28, has made over 160 appearances for Arsenal in his four seasons at the Emirates Stadium, scoring 12 goals.
