Real Madrid are to tempt Liverpool with Karim Benzema as the Spanish giants still have their heart on signing Luis Suarez. Madrid’s interest of Luis Suarez has gained pace in recent weeks with [football] direct news reporting that contact was made between them and Liverpool officials on Monday evening. Liverpool informed Madrid that they would be willing to sell, citing Suarez’s happiness at the club but it is now understood that Madrid are ready to offer Karim Benzema as part of a deal for the Uruguayan striker. The Reds have shown interest in French international Benzema in the past, along with Premier League rivals Arsenal but it is understood recent injury troubles and poor form have seen Madrid officials change their mind on keeping him next season. Reports of an 82m bid for Suarez continue to rumble on, despite Liverpool’s recent rejection, however, time will tell if Madrid’s attempt to tempt the Merseyside outfit will come off. Benzema has scored 17 La Liga goals this season in 34 games.
