Madrid have struggled in the left-back area this season with niggling injuries and poor form from both Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao. The latter is expected to leave this summer and boss Carlo Ancelotti has already been linked with a number of players as possible replacements. Cole has made over 300 appearances for the Premier League club since he joined in 2006 from Arsenal but he has fallen down the pecking order following the return of boss Jose Mourinho. The former Arsenal defender remains unsure of his future but is yet to be offered a new deal at the club.
