Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would have been watching the French cup final with great interest on Saturday evening after Edinson Cavani scored a match winning brace. Jose Mourinho’s desire to sign a striker this summer gathered pace following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge after the likes of Demba Ba and Fernando Torres failed to make an impact from the substitutes bench. One player who Mourinho has been credited with interest is Uruguayan Edinson Cavani and his two-goal performance in Saturday’s French cup final has further prompted the Portuguese coach to consider a move. Cavani moved to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain last summer from Napoli in a lucrative move but his time with the club has had ups and downs and it is understood that he would be keen to move on. The 27-year-old will represent his country at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil but it is expected that he will face a summer of gossip regarding an exit.
