Paris Saint-Germain have sent representatives to discuss a move for Daniele Baselli with his club Atalanta. Baselli, 22, had been interesting Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and Monaco, but it is PSG who have made the first steps to try and sign the young midfielder. The midfielder has caught the eye in Serie A this season, prompting interest from some the bigger hitters with regards to a possible bid in the summer. Baselli came through the youth programme at Atalanta, breaking into the first team this season. A creative midfield playmaker, Baselli has drawn comparisons with Juventus and Italy star Andrea Pirlo, and has been earmarked as the veteran’s long-term successor at the Juventus Stadium. However, PSG have stolen ahead of their rivals and are in talks about a move, according to information in Le 10 Sport. Should Baselli arrive at the Parc des Princes this summer quite where that would leave Marco Verratti is unclear.
