Manchester City face a battle to keep teenager Zackarias Faour from the clutches of French giants Paris Saint-Germain, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The 16-year-old has been dubbed ‘the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ by Scandinavian observers, who saw him rise to prominence in Malmo’s youth academy before arriving in England last summer.
His fee could eventually rise to more than 1million depending on the progress he makes with the Blues but a source close to the Etihad Stadium told FDN that cash-rich PSG have sent club spies to watch him in action.
He caught their eye earlier this year in the Al Kass International Cup in Qatar, and are sure to have returned to the French capital with glowing reports for manager Laurent Blanc. Faour was arguably City’s stand-out performer throughout the tournament, even outshining fellow teenager Brahim Abdelkader Diaz, who was signed from La Liga side Malaga last year in a deal which could rise to 2. 4million.
The City source insists the title challengers are determined to keep hold of the player, for whom they have high hopes. Watch the second leg of UEFA Champions League quarter-final: Bayern Munich face Manchester United
