Norwich City could make an approach for Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin this summer, it has emerged.
The Frenchman, currently out on loan for the season with Bundesliga side Freiburg, has not managed to establish himself as a regular for the Gunners in his time with the club, and could be available for transfer.
Coquelin has been out on loan before with Lorient as well, and may yet make the move abroad, though a Norwich source told FootballDirectNews.com that they are interested in signing him in the next transfer window.
The Canaries are currently fighting against relegation from the Premier League, and will need to make changes to their squad ahead of next season, whether they secure survival or not. We’re having to think about next season and players that might leave, a club insider explained. “The boss wants to bring in some good young players, and Coquelin is one that has impressed. Arsenal have a lot of players like that who aren’t getting games, so we might look there for players who’d be interested in moving. “
