Napoli have agreed to sign Olympique Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalons in the summer, according to reports in Italy. Gonalons has been interesting a number of Premier League clubs with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the way. However, according to a source close to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, the Serie A side have an agreement in place to sign Gonalons in the summer. A fee of around 8 million is said to have been agreed for the French midfielder. The news will come as a blow to both Arsenal and United who were looking at the 25-year-old as a potential summer recruit. United boss David Moyes is looking to overhaul his squad this summer with a particular focus on improving the midfield. United are linked with several players from around Europe, including Miralem Pjanbic at Roma, Arturo Vidal of Juventus and Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos. Meanwhile Arsenal were also looking at Gonalons as a long term replacement for Mikael Arteta.
