AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo is set to leave the Italian club this summer if they fail to qualify for Europe, [football] direct news understands. The Italian midfielder captains Clarence Seedorf’s side but this season has seen Milan struggle in Serie A and with ten points seperating them and fourth placed Fiorentina, Champions League qualification looks unlikely. That has led a number big name players linked with a summer exit and Man United boss David Moyes is keen to pursue a move for the Italy international. The 28-year-old is also on Real Madrid’s radar but United are keen to add him and reinforce their midfield options. Montolivo is under contract at the San Siro until 2016 but it is expected that a lack of European football and a substantial offer from United would see him free to leave the club.
