Former Manchester United boss David Moyes is in the running for a return to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur. The Scottish coach was sacked from United last month before the end of his first season in charge at Old Trafford. However, his time out of work could be short lived, according to bookmakers, who have priced the former Everton boss at 16/1 to succeed ousted Tim Sherwood at Tottenham who was sacked on Tuesday. Moyes is one of the leading contenders for the job at White Hart Lane alongside Southampton coach Mauricio Pochettino (8/13), Ajax’s Frank de Boer (7/2) and Napoli’s Rafa Benitez (6/1).Pochettino remains the clear favourite and the threat of his team being picked apart by the likes of United and Liverpool might persuade him to move on. However, the Argentine has a contract at St Mary’s and the Saints will be due compensation from Spurs if they make an approach. Moyes remains the only coach of the favourites of work which could appeal to the Spurs board.
