If Chelsea win at Anfield on Sunday then Liverpool will become Jose Mourinho’s happiest hunting ground in his managerial career. In 17 matches in charge against Liverpool, all of which have come as Chelsea boss, Mourinho has been on the winning side eight times – the joint-most of any side which the Portuguese has faced. Liverpool are one of five different sides to have fallen to a side managed by Mourinho on eight occasions, with Barcelona, Manchester United, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid making up the other sides. Mourinho, though, has come up against Barca 27 times, while he has faced Man United 18 times, Spurs 12 times and Atletico 10 times. The Portuguese has drawn four and lost five against the Merseysiders and has not won in his last three visits to Anfield, drawing once and losing twice – victory against Brendan Rodgers’ side would see Chelsea move to within two points of the Premier League leaders with just two games remaining.
