French side AS Monaco have been given the green light to sign Bacary Sagna after Man City ended their interest, [football] direct news understands. The French club have been credited with interest for Sagna since negotiations over a new deal with Arsenal continued to stall. Sagna, who joined the Gunners back in 2007 but is available on a bosman transfer this summer as his contract ends in June. That has led numerous clubs to show interest with the likes of Inter Milan and Manchester City joining Monaco in that respect. However, [FDN] understands that City will look elsewhere as they plan to sign a new right-back, whilst Inter have been put off by the French international’s wage demands. Sagna is keen for final big money contract and it is understood that Monaco are ready to give the 31-year-old the contract that he wishes.
