AC Milan are reportedly set to make a move for Leicester City and Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who is out of contract in the summer. Schmeichel has been highly impressive this season for Leicester, who have confirmed their promotion back to the Premier League after a decade outside of the top flight from the Championship. The 27-year-old, who is the son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, also earned rave reviews for his performance for Denmark at Wembley last month against England and he is expected to have a number of Premier League sides interested in his signature this summer. Schmeichel’s contract at Leicester is set to expire at the end of the season and the Dane revealed last week that he is yet to receive an offer of a new deal from the club, where he admits that he is happy. According to Italian newspaper Il Giorno, AC Milan are showing an interest in Schmeichel as they look to sign a new goalkeeper, with first-choice keeper Christian Abbiati’s deal set to expire at the end of the season.
