Juventus defender Martin Caceres looks likely to snub offers of a move away and sign a new contract at the club, according to Fichajes. net.
The Uruguayan international has largely been a squad player for Juventus in recent times, though he attracted attention from Arsenal last summer, and more recently from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 26-year-old has also played for the likes of Barcelona and Sevilla in his career so far, and his experience at the top level and in different leagues made him an appealing target for Premier League clubs, though he is seemingly happy to remain in Turin. Caceres won the title in Serie A last season and looks set to do so again this year as Antonio Conte’s side continue to dominate the domestic scene, and the player is clearly happy and settled with the Italian giants.
Talks over a new contract are expected to take place soon, leaving the interested English clubs to ponder other options to strengthen their defences this summer. All three sides could be set to lose key players, with Nemanja Vidic already confirmed as leaving United, while Rio Ferdinand could also follow. Arsenal and Spurs, meanwhile, face uncertainty over Thomas Vermaelen and Jan Vertonghen, respectively.
