Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone could be Manchester United’s preferred choice if they decide to replace David Moyes next season, it has emerged.
The Argentine is widely regarded as one of the best young managers in the world, having worked wonders with Atletico in his short time with the club.
Simeone has led Atletico to glory in the Europa League and Copa del Rey in the last few seasons, as well as turning the M+adrid outfit into genuine title contenders in La Liga. With Moyes struggling since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson at United this season, the Red Devils are thought to be considering giving him until the end of this campaign before making a decision on appointing a new head coach in the summer. Juventus’ Antonio Conte was believed to be the main candidate in mind for United, though he looks increasingly likely to remain with the Turin giants now, leading the Red Devils to consider other targets.

Moyes has been under pressure for much of this season with continued poor results, but while a club insider admitted to FootballDirectNews.com alternatives were being considered, the Scot may still be given time to prove himself, as Ferguson was in a slow start to his career with the club.
