Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson believes Manchester United will not struggle to land big names even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils currently sit 11 points off the Champions League places in seventh place in the Premier League as they face the prospect of failing to qualify for the competition for the first time since 1995.
With the spending power of Manchester City and Chelsea, Arsenal with an alleged 120 million in the bank and Liverpool’s resurgence, there have been fears that United would fail to attract Europe’s top players.

Manager David Moyes has expressed an interest in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, though reports suggest Real Madrid are also interested and the Chilean international may prefer to play for a club competing in Europe’s premier competition.
However, Merson said that due to Man United’s reputation, they could still attract the world’s best players.
He said on sky sports’ soccer saturday: “Manchester United are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and top players will want to play for them. ”
