Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has passed a medical ahead of a summer move to Barcelona, [football] direct news understands. The German international has struggled for fitness this season in the Bundesliga but his talents have still seen him gain interest from the likes of Premier League side Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona. But it is the latter who have all-but confirmed a deal for the midfielder after ESPN’s Argentine correspondant Roberto Martinez tweeted information regarding a possible deal. It is now further understood that Barca’s club doctors, including head docter, Ricard Pruna, were in Germany on Wednesday to help Gundogan pass his medical ahead of a summer move. Talks between Barcelona and Gundogan had been reported in January and further discussions have seen the move advance. The 23-year-old has just one-year left on his current deal with Borussia Dortmund.
