AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo is reportedly a summer target for Manchester United manager David Moyes. According to a report in TMW, United boss Moyes sees Montolivo as someone who can come in and instantly improve his options in midfield. Moyes’ priority this summer is to rebuild the core of his midfield by signing a leader and he sees 29-year-old Italy international Montolivo as someone who can do just that. United will face competition from Arsenal for the Italian star, according to the player’s agent, although the wealth of midfielders already at the Emirates Stadium puts United in the box seat. Milan will not be keen to let one of their best performers leave at the end of a disappointing season that has seen the San Siro club drop to mid-table mediocrity. However, next season under Dutch coach Clarence Seedorf is expected to see things improve on the pitch.
