Liverpool look set to miss out on Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka as Manchester United look to confirm a deal for the in-demand star, according to German newspaper Bild. Louis van Gaal has made the player a priority with him known to be a big admirer of the tricky star. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers came close to landing the Ukrainian ace in January but was unable to agree terms – with the deal falling through at the last minute. His 13 goals in 34 appearances impressed Rodgers, who is still keen to add extra firepower to his squad ahead of a Premier League and Champions League campaign. The 24-year-old has been in superb form this season and has gained plaudits from a number of clubs, including Paris Saint Germain, Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Fiorentina.
