Manchester United could be moving closer to the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Marco Reus as the player considers his future.
The German striker, who can also operate as a winger, reportedly told former teammate Mario Gotze that he wanted to go to United. According to the German press and in comments relayed by Le 10 Sport, Gotze said: “When I was at Borussia Dortmund , Marco wanted to go to Manchester United . This has not changed. ”Gotze left Dortmund last summer to sign for Bayern Munich and with striker Robert Lewandowski also set to make the same move this year, Reus is ready to move on.
The player has previously stated that he dreams of winning titles and achieving more goals before the end of his career. Reus has a contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2017, so a fee of around 32 million will be needed to persuade Dortmund to part with the forward. With United set to announce a new manager any day, the arrival of a player like Reus would boost the club and the fans who have had to endure their worst season for over a quarter of a century.
