Manchester United have made an official approach for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus. According to a report in German daily newspaper Bild, the managerless Premier League have informed Dortmund that they intend to make an approach for the player when the transfer window reopens. The 24-year-old German, who can operate across the front line, has been heavily linked with a summer exit from Dortmund with United circling. Reus has watched on as Dortmund’s team has been picked apart by Bayern Munich, who have signed Mario Gotze and will complete the transfer of Robert Lewandowski in the summer. With several more stars expected to leave in the summer, Reus could follow suit. The German international is one of his country’s most promising players and has scored 21 goals in 38 appearances for his club this season. Reus has a contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2017, meaning United would have to pay around 35 million to secure his signing.
