Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao is closing in on a move to Manchester United this summer. According to a report on Fichajes.net, Coentrao’s agent is set to meet with United officials in the coming weeks to discussa move to Old Trafford. The Portuguese international has been linked with an exit from the Bernabeu all season, with a proposed loan move to Old Trafford reportedly falling through on the final day of last summer’s transfer window. Coentrao remains set on leaving Madrid at the end of this season, especially with Madrid chasing replacements Alberto Moreno at Sevilla and Mattia de Sciglio at Milan. Contact has been made between United and Coentrao’s agent and reports suggest that initial talks have been positive. With Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal expected to take charge at United next season, Coentrao could be one of the first arrivals through the Old Trafford door this summer.
