Superdeporte claim that Valencia have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez. The 28-year-old midfielder began his career with little known Argentine side Godoy Cruz before impressing enough to be signed by Estudiantes. His consistency led Benfica to make a 5.5m bid in 2011 and he has impressed since arriving in Europe, more notably so this season, having made 40 appearances in all competitions, helping them to a league and cup double. Those types of performances have led a number of top European clubs to show interest with Manchester United being one of those after sending scouts over the Portuguese club. However, Superdeporte have now claimed that Valencia have also made moves to sign the Argentine and are looking at offering him a lucrative contract to move to the Mestalla stadium.
