Liverpool will have the pick of three players from Manchester City, who are desperate to sign Luis Suarez this summer, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Uruguay international has been in superb form again this season after already attracting interest from City and other top clubs for much of last summer, and he looks set to be subject to further transfer speculation and rumours after an even better campaign this time round.
The 27-year-old is currently the leading scorer in the Premier League with 29 goals, and he has also laid on 11 assists for his team-mates, helping the Reds to the top of the table with only a few games remaining. City will be among their main rivals for the title, and they will now look to dent Liverpool’s challenge in the future by signing their best player, though a club insider revealed that they are willing to offer one of Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri or Gael Clichy to Brendan Rodgers to help push a deal through. Dzeko and Nasri could ease the loss of Suarez’s influence in attack, while Clichy could be a useful signing for Liverpool as they are seemingly in the market for a new left-back as Aly Cissokho looks unlikely to make his loan move to Anfield permanent.

My understanding is the club are really keen to test Liverpool’s resolve on Suarez, a City source explained. “I’m hearing that there will be a big-money offer plus a player – Dzeko, Nasri or Clichy.

I’m sure they’d rather sell abroad if they have to, but we’ll see.
