With growing reports of a desire by Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini to replace his current selection of strikers with new summer signings, the Chilean boss has been linked with Paraguayan striker Oscar Cardoza. The 30-year-old has been in superb form in each of his seven seasons at Portuguese club Benfica and particularly shone last season when he scored 33 goals in 46 games. Whilst his availability is uncertain, the Primeira Liga side have preferred Spanish forward Rodrigo this season and that has led to many reports citing the former Newell’s Old Boys star with a summer move. And, Cardoza’s agent has paved the way for Man City to make a bid after speaking to Radio station Cardinal Paraguay about his clients situation. I think in June, it will be a good time for Cardoza to transfer. At the moment he is concentrating on the remainder of the season but when the time comes, we will discuss a summer move.
