Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says his side badly want to win the Premier League title this season. Speaking to Sky Sports after today’s win against West Ham United, Gerrard played down suggestions that the Reds are favourites to take the trophy, but insists they will do everything they can between now and the end of the season. The midfielder scored twice from the penalty spot in a crucial 2-1 victory at the Boleyn Ground, making it nine wins in a row for the Merseyside giants, and Gerrard believes his players showed their determination to be champions by grinding out a difficult win. We want this title really bad and I think we showed that, the 33-year-old said after the game. I’m not convinced (we’ll win the title) just yet, we’ve got some hard games to go and a huge game next week. We’ll stay calm and give everything we can.
